Premier Lawn Services and Premier Mosquito Services are now one company with one name: Happy Habitat. If you have been a Premier customer, you are in the same hands you always were.
What isn't changing
- The owner. Happy Habitat is Jim Barrett's company, the same family-owned business he started as Premier Lawn Services in 2017.
- Where we are. We are still based in Kirkville and still care for homes across Central New York.
- The phone number. It is still (315) 559-0727.
- The care. The same lawn program and the same mosquito and tick control, from the same team.
- The promise. If you're not happy, we're not happy, and we'll make it right.
What's new
- One name for everything we do. In Jim's words: “Today, we've brought our lawn care, mosquito and tick control, and exterior pest control services together under one name: Happy Habitat.”
- One place to find us. Lawn care, mosquito and tick control and exterior pest control all live here, with guides for the problems Central New York yards actually have.
- A new look. A new logo and a mascot who is very serious about lawns.
Why one name
Jim started with lawns, and mosquito control was part of Premier from day one. Over time the work grew to cover the whole property: the lawn, the yard you live in and the outside of the home it surrounds. One name says that better than two. Jim tells the whole story on our About page.
From a borrowed mower to Happy Habitat
Jim's start in lawn care goes back to when he was a kid. His grandfather made him a deal: if he mowed his grandfather's lawn, he could use the mower and the gas to mow the neighbors' lawns and earn some spending money. When his grandmother asked what he wanted to be when he grew up, his answer was, “I want to have my own lawn mowing business.”
In 2017, with a family on the way and a real passion for his own lawn, Jim spent countless hours researching fertilization, weed control and what it takes to turn a struggling lawn into something beautiful. He completed the required training, earned his licensing and launched Premier Lawn Services, with fertilization, weed control and mosquito control from day one.
Happy Habitat is that same business, grown up: lawn care, mosquito and tick control and exterior pest control, still locally owned and still based in Kirkville, “serving the Central New York communities where we live, work, and raise our families,” as Jim puts it. The family supports local organizations too, including ESM Little League, through sponsorships and volunteering.
“If you're not happy, I'm not happy”
That's what Jim often tells people, and he means it. In his words: “My goal has never been to build the biggest lawn care company. It's to build a company people can trust, one that delivers quality work, communicates honestly, and stands behind its services.” It's the standard he holds the whole team to, and it's the promise on every page of this site. Or, as Jim signs off: reliable down to the roots.

- The old web addresses. If you knew us at premierlawnservices.com or premiermosquitoservices.com, this is the same company, now at callhappyhabitat.com.
- Our reviews. Premier Lawn Services and Premier Mosquito Services, now Happy Habitat, received Trustindex's Top Rated Service 2026 badge, thanks to our neighbors' Google reviews. Many of those reviews were left under the old names, and you'll find them on our Reviews page.
