For a lawn you love

Lawn fertilization
& weed control.

A healthier lawn. Less room for weeds.
More reasons to enjoy your yard.

One full-season lawn program for Central New York homes does the heavy lifting. Add the extras your yard needs, and your estimate lays it all out.

The full-season lawn program

One program handles all four.

Most lawn trouble starts with one of these. The full-season program takes on all four, timed to how Central New York lawns grow.

  • In every program

    Thin, pale grass

    Slow-release feeding through the season.

  • In every program

    Crabgrass along the driveway

    Crabgrass prevention, before it sprouts.

  • In every program

    Dandelions and clover

Broadleaf weed control as they show up.

  • In every program

Brown patches that won't green up

Can mean grubs are feeding on the roots. Grub prevention protects them.

Your lawn, cared for from spring to fall.

Slow-release granular fertilizer feeds your lawn steadily, so it greens up without sudden growth spurts, and every visit is timed to how Central New York lawns grow.

  1. Spring

Slow-release feeding with crabgrass prevention, to bring your lawn out of winter.

  2. Early summer

A second slow-release feeding gets your lawn ready for summer, with broadleaf weeds treated.

  3. Summer

Feeding continues through the summer, with weeds treated as needed. Grub prevention is included in this round, to protect the roots.

  4. Late summer

Another round of feeding, with weeds treated as needed. It's also the time to aerate and overseed your lawn.

  5. Fall

A final feeding (some call it a winterizer), with weeds treated if needed. Fall is also an ideal time for our Calcium and Lime Soil Treatment, so it can work into the soil before spring growth begins.

Good. Better. Best.

Three packages. One free estimate.

Every lawn estimate shows three levels, each building on the one before. Grub prevention comes with all three, protecting the roots of the lawn you're paying to grow from damage that can be costly to fix. You choose when you approve it.

Lawn questions

A little clarity before we start.

Helpful answers about your lawn and your estimate.

What is the difference between the lawn program and the extras?

The full-season program provides ongoing feeding and weed care through the growing season, with grub prevention built in, and every lawn estimate shows it at three levels. Aeration, overseeding, the Calcium and Lime Soil Treatment, one-time flea and tick knockdowns, fall leaf cleanup and exterior pest control are extras, each priced separately as an optional service. Your estimate lists your program and any extras you choose.

What's the difference between Lawn Pest Defense and mosquito and tick control?

Mosquito and tick control treats trees, shrubs, wood lines and the shady spots where mosquitoes rest and ticks wait. Lawn Pest Defense treats the lawn itself, for insects that live on the surface, like surface ants, chinch bugs, fleas and ticks. The Best level includes both.

When should I start lawn care in Central New York?

Anytime. It's never too late to start. Every treatment gives your lawn nutrients it can put to work right away, so the sooner the program starts, the sooner your lawn benefits. Jim explains why in The Best Time to Start Lawn Care.

Can I seed my lawn and use crabgrass prevention together?

No. Grass seed can still germinate, but crabgrass preventer stops the new grass from establishing, so the two can't be done together. Let us know if you are planning to seed so that the recommendations account for both.

Will one treatment take care of the weeds?

It can take care of some of them, but weeds keep coming up all season long, which is why we come back throughout the growing season. Some harder-to-control weeds take back-to-back applications. And weeds like wild violet harden off in the summer and can really only be controlled in spring and fall.

Is the Calcium and Lime Soil Treatment included in the lawn program?

It's a separate option you can add to your lawn estimate. Our Calcium and Lime Soil Treatment helps improve soil conditions by balancing acidic soil pH, making essential nutrients more available to your lawn. It supports healthy root development, improves fertilizer effectiveness, and promotes stronger, thicker, healthier grass over time. Fall is an ideal time to apply, allowing the treatment to work into the soil before spring growth begins.

How much will lawn care cost?

Your price is based mainly on the size of your lawn. Start with your address, then tell us what you would like handled so we can recommend the care that fits.
